1. Podcasting:
I have previous experience listening to (randomly)and subscribing to podcasts. I find them very useful, convenient, and easy to share. We can use this technology to promote our programs and to "booktalk." Another way to use it would be to involve our patrons.
http://my.podcast.com/mgrozdic/ -- I realy enjoyed the Arlington Heights Library's TS vodcast. I think we should create some featuring our library.
2. YouTuabe
Again, very useful, very popular tool. Taking videos during our programs (assuming OK with kids, parents) and posting them to promote similar future programs, or just staff talking about the program, booktalk, etc.

Thing #4
Flikr is cool! I explored and found "aspenbreezes' photostream" -- a lot of shots feature wildlife -- makes me want to go there. It seems that the woman that owns it is having a lot of fun as well as meeting the needs of many people (judging by the number of comments).
As for my personal use -- I think it is great especially since a lot of families and friends do not stay in the same geographic reagion -- besides it's instant, even the members of one's own family can see it faster than waiting for "dinner time" sharing.
I see a great potential of promoting our programs -- once people see that others had fun and were happy while participating, they too might be more inclined to participate next time.
The only thing might be safety of patrons shown (especially children), however, with employment of proper safety measures that can be managed. I'd like to add pictures from the activities I facilitate/cofacilitate (namely chess club and gaming days.)

Thing #3
I have "experienced" FaceBook before out of shear necessity: last summer one of my nieces got married (in Europe) and the only way for us to see the pictures was through FaceBook!
I think it can be very useful but also very dangerous. Since most young people, including our patrons, are so enemored with it, it would be wise for the library to find ways to incorporate it in our service delivery system.
Waht makes it so popular -- for the most part ego -- I mean seeing oneself on the screen can make one feel like a celebrity! Also, it easy, fast, cool, inexpensive...
Safety is big issue, especially with children.
